Bitdeer was started in December 2018 by Jihan Wu to provide a simpler, more accessible, and reliable way for users to participate in cryptocurrency mining, bridging the gap between high-barrier technical requirements and growing demand. It was established to build, operate, and manage high-performance data centers, specializing in Bitcoin mining infrastructure, and later expanded into AI cloud services.
Bitdeer was founded to bridge the technical gap in cryptocurrency mining by providing accessible infrastructure and is currently operating to lead the market in both Bitcoin mining and AI cloud computing.
Accessibility: To make digital asset mining accessible to individual and enterprise clients through cloud hashrate and hosting services, removing the need for users to manage complex hardware themselves.
Strategic Independence: It was spun off from Bitmain (the world's largest mining rig manufacturer) to focus exclusively on mining services, infrastructure, and operations while Bitmain focused on chip design.
Infrastructure Pioneering: Founder Jihan Wu sought to build professional, large-scale data centers that could stabilize the Bitcoin network and professionalize what was then a fragmented industry.
